Rachael Kirkconnell Addresses Racial Controversy
The moment we have all been waiting for… Season 25 winner, Rachael Kirkconnell took a seat in the candle Thunderdome to address her racially insensitive actions. Right away, Kirkconnell took responsibility for the photos. “There’s no excuse,” she said.
She also explained that she didn’t understand the weight of her actions and how she never lost sleep worrying about the photos ever leaking. However, the Bachelor alum took personal responsibility for not knowing better and shared that people need to stop defending her actions. “People need to realize that just saying ‘This is normal [where I’m from]’…doesn’t make it right.”
While Rachael is battling her inner emotions and trying to save her name, she is also mourning the loss of her relationship with Matt James. “I lost the love of my life and in the process of that, I hurt him while doing so,” she said to Emmanuel.
When the two united on stage, they refused to hug and the fans could almost feel the elephant in the room, to the point where we could’ve cut through the awkward silence and pain.
