Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are reuniting.

The iconic on-screen mother-daughter duo are set to reprise their roles as Anna Coleman and Tess Coleman, respectively for a sequel of their classic Disney film, Freaky Friday.

In an interview with The New York Times, Disney confirmed that a new film was in development, alluding to the possibility of original cast members returning for the film with Elyse Hollander (It Was Romance, An Ode to Demons), as head writer.

“As I went around the world with ‘Halloween Ends,’ people wanted to know if there was going to be another ‘Freaky Friday.’ Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made,'” Curtis told The New York Times.

The renowned actress, most famously known for her role in the Halloween series, won her first-ever Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in Everything Everywhere All At Once. The range of roles which she’s played goes to show just how phenomenal of an actress Curtis really is.

Lohan also shared her excitement for the Freaky Friday sequel earlier this week, with an Instagram post stating, “Reunited and it feels so good.” With a child currently on the way, we wonder if themes and life lessons surrounding motherhood will be prevalent in this new sequel.

LiLo has also had her fair share of global success, with her breakout role in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap taking the world by storm. Since then, the former child actress has made major appearances in several cult classic films like Mean Girls (2004), Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005) and more.

We cannot wait to see if dream duo Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan make their way back to the Disney stage to take on Freaky Friday two! Let us know what you think about the making of the sequel by leaving a reaction below or by sliding into our DMs via Instagram @celebsecrets.
