Brian Daboll and the New York Giants have taken the league by storm!
Daboll and co. have completely surprised the football universe by getting off to such a hot start, and that hot start continued in week seven as the Giants defense stopped the Jacksonville Jaguars from scoring at the one-yard line on the game’s final play to win the game 23-7.
The keys to this Giants victory were a consistent running attack and a dominant performance by their defense, including stopping the Jaguars on the one-yard line to end the game, as previously mentioned.
Quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley each ran for over 100 yards on the day, and Jones added a touchdown on the ground to go along with another touchdown through the air. Jones has had an impressive season as he has been doing just enough to get the job done for the Giants; keep in mind that the Giants have arguably the worst receiving core in the league, so it makes what the Giants are doing even more impressive.

As for Barkley, it has been such a joy to see him back on the field doing what he does best after several injuries had kept him away from the game within the last couple of seasons. Barkley is completely taking the league by storm and showing that he is still one of the best running backs, if not the best running back in the game, as he leads the NFL in scrimmage yards; scrimmage yards are a culmination of both receiving and rushing yards.

To talk about the clutch performance of the Giants defense, much praise should be given to the New York defensive back group of Julian Love, Xavier McKinney, Fabian Moreau, and Landon Collins as they stopped Jaguars receiver Christian Kirk, from scoring a touchdown as time expired to secure another win for their team.
Fitting that it’s Julian Love and Xavier McKinney teaming up on this decisive stop for the Giants. They’ve been at the heart of this Wink Martindale defense all year. Important effort from Fabian Moreau and nice to see Landon Collins help close out.

The Giants will look to keep their winning streak alive as they head to Seattle to face off against another surprising team in the Seahawks for their week eight matchup.
As for Jacksonville, they were up 17-13 in the third quarter but could not close out this as they suffered their fourth straight loss to fall to 2-5 on the season after being 2-1 early on. They will now head to London to face off against another struggling team, the Denver Broncos, for their week eight matchup.
