The 2022 World Cup is officially underway, and the USA Men’s National Soccer Team is officially 0-1-0 as they finished their first game in a tie with Wales at 1-1.
The team was led by a tremendous goal by 22-year-old star Timothy Weah, while former Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale scored a goal for Wales.
The USA was in control for most of this showdown, thanks mainly to the incredible speed and play of youngsters like Weston McKennie, Christian Pulisic, and Yunus Musah. The USA took an early 1-0 lead in the contest’s first half as Weah nailed a goal in the 36th minute, while Wales kept fighting and were awarded a penalty kick that led to Bale tying the game with a little under ten minutes left in regulation at the 82nd minute.
Tim Weah with the cool finish!

The US team enters the World Cup for the first time in eight years after not qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. As for Wales, this is their first appearance in the World Cup since 1958. With that said, both of these teams have much to prove and are eager to show what they can do after several years without an opportunity to compete on soccer’s biggest stage.
The USA will look to bounce back on Friday, November 25, against a historically successful soccer organization in England. Although England is the favorite, the USA Men’s soccer team has a tremendous opportunity to prove the world wrong and show that this is a different USA soccer team.
England comes into the matchup at 1-0 after crushing Iran 6-2 in their first matchup of the 2022 World Cup.
