Former Packers star quarterback Brett Favre has been exposed to knowing about receiving illegal funds, while he denied that he knew where the funds were coming from. Favre is definitely in some hot water as of now.
Throughout the investigations known as the Mississippi welfare fund scandal, Favre’s name has been named since the early findings. However, Favre has denied that he knew that his funds were coming illegally.
This all started when former non-profit organization owner Nancy New was caught using welfare grant money for people in need for uses of buying people gifts and, in this case, lending Brett Favre $1 million to fund a new volleyball stadium at the University of Southern Mississippi in which Favre’s daughter played for with permission by former Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant.
Some text messages have come out in an alleged conversation between Nancy New and Brett Favre. Anna Wolfe of Mississippi Today posted the text messages.
Brett Favre: Will the media find out that we're using welfare funds intended to help the poorest residents of America's poorest state to build a volleyball center?

After being interviewed as part of the investigation, Favre paid back the $1 million he received. However, these new text messages may add a new door open for the investigation. As stated earlier, Favre has denied knowing about the illegal funds from the start of this criminal investigation.
We will now wait and see if Favre will once again be questioned for perhaps lying to the FBI about his actual knowledge of the origin of the funds.
This is not the first time Favre has been part of a massive scandal; in 2008, while playing for the New York Jets, Favre was accused of sending sexually explicit photos, voice messages, and text messages to Jenn Sterger. Sterger was a sideline reporter for the Jets at the time. Sterger took to Twitter to give her thoughts on this new scandal for the former QB.
Days like today are always tough. I want to act like my life isn’t still drastically impacted by another persons treatment of me, but that would be a lie. To think my legacy and everything anyone knows of me.. can be summed down to the title of “The Brett Favre Girl,” is not only

Someone else who also tweeted about this situation was Jeff Pearlman, who is the author of Favre’s biography; Pearlman had some harsh words for Favre.
On the day of extended Favre revelations, I wanna share something: I wrote a biography of the man that was largely glowing. Football heroics, overcoming obstacles, practical joker, etc. Yes, it included his grossness, addictions, treatment of women. But it was fairly positive pic.twitter.com/m1rJJ2sChf
