Broadway lovers, Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones have closed the curtain on their relationship, after 3 years of engagement and 6 years together, a source confirms to E! News.
The couple first met in 2014 during rehearsals for the award-winning show, Hamilton. After many longs nights on stage together as Phillip Hamilton and Peggy Schuyler, they officially started dating a year later, 2015.
Flash forward thee years later, the pair got engaged in front of Cephas Jones’ favorite castle in Arundel, England on Christmas Eve while vacationing in London in 2018. Both of them shared the exciting news on Instagram with a post in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Cephas Jones wrote, “It brought tears to my eyes because I don’t get to see my family in England that I’m so close with that much because we are an ocean away,” she expressed. “But they got to witness this amazing event in our lives. And what a moment it was!! All because of you.”
Their most recent outing was at the premiere of In The Heights during opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival with Cephas Jones supporting her soon-to-be husband at the time. Days later, Cephas Jones’ new series Blindspotting also premiered at the festival, and the two were able to show their encouragement for one another side-by-side.
Ramos conveyed his gratitude to his fiancé, telling People, “She’s a rock, man. She’s a pillar,” he says. “That’s what you hope for in a partner, I think that’s a blessing. I’m truly just eternally grateful for her, man. I get excited when I think about it.”
Many fans have theories on what could’ve happened but no sources have confirmed what led to the split. Ramos and Cephas Jones have yet to comment.
