SHINee‘s back!
It’s been two months since their successful seventh studio album Don’t Call Me was released and the princes of K-Pop released their repackage version of the album today along with the music video for the title track “Atlantis.”
The group confirmed the news of a repackaged version of Don’t Call Me, titled Atlantis, at the end of last month and shared that it would include the songs from Don’t Call Me as well as three new tracks: “Area,” “Days and Years,” and as mentioned before, “Atlantis.”
Besides the three new songs, SHINee also released the aquatic-themed music video for “Atlantis” where we see the quartet explore the depths of their love, as they sing in the chorus, “My love goes deep, deep, deep/ Your ocean got deeper/ The emotion got stronger / My love goes deep, deep, deep/ I entrust my entire self in the waves.”
The title track serves as a perfect pop song that really focuses on the group’s vocal abilities especially with rapper Minho‘s raspy voice and vocalist and leader Onew‘s exceptional vocal range. Not to mention main dancers and vocalists Taemin and Key‘s vocals throughout the song are also incredible.
While “Atlantis” is an upbeat, pop song, “Area” is a sultry, chill-beat heavy almost R&B track that discusses dealing with the pain left behind by losing a lover. “Days and Years” is a ballad that blesses us with beautiful harmonies and adlibs, and shares the story behind loving someone through thick and thin.
The addition of these three tracks adds to an already well-rounded album, making Atlantis the perfect spring to summer transition album to play on repeat for the next couple of months.
