Hot New Artist SIENA is Trailblazing Country Music With New Single “Restless Wind” (Exclusive)

SIENA is here to make a mark country music with her highly-anticipated single “Restless Wind.”

In case you didn’t know, SIENA is a neon cowgirl out of Las Vegas that traded dry desert richness and gleaming strip lights to follow her dreams in Music City.

In an exclusive interview with Celeb Secrets, the talented singer-songwriter took a deep dive into who she truly is, ultimately revealing that she’s just trying to be the girl she was born to be in Nashville, Tennessee.

“And I’ll drive straight through, I’ll walk if I have to, ‘Cause I gotta be the girl I was born to be,” she sings in her new single.

She also opened up about how that line in her new single is the most special to her. “I’ve known singing and performing country music was what I’ve always wanted to do. Hence, ‘being the girl I was born to be,'” she said.

The country artist has always prided herself as an outdoor girl, as she mentions in some of her other lyrics she has written. And since moving to Nashville in 2021, she has been able to continue her other love of horseback riding and welding!

Along with attending the National Finals Rodeo every year, I grew up riding and training horses with my mom, team roping, some barrel racing, going clay sport shooting with my dad,” said SIENA.

We cannot wait to hear what else SIENA has up her sleeve as she mentions to us that she hopes to release her EP sometime this year and play at Cowboy Christmas during the National Finals Rodeo.

Celeb Secrets: For people who may not know you yet, can you explain your musical style and a little bit about who you are as an artist?

SIENA: “I’m Siena, born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. Since 2021, I have resided in Nashville, TN. I like to say my music has touches of 2000’s country, Fleetwood Mac, and Miranda Lambert. I grew up listening to these eras so I wanted my music to resemble that. I do pride myself in being an outdoors girl and I mention that in some lyrics I write. Along with attending the National Finals Rodeo every year, I grew up riding and training horses with my mom, team roping, some barrel racing, going clay sport shooting with my dad, and thus hunting and fishing have become something I truly enjoy as well. As an artist I want to show my true self through my records and the way I live.”

CS: Your new single, “Restless Wind” last month (March 31) – can you tell us about the message behind the song?

SIENA: “I wrote Restless Wind with Rebecca Lynn Howard about my move from Las Vegas to Nashville. I was on my way to a gig in Utah. While driving, I was really thinking about where I wanted my career to go. I simply asked God, ‘If I’m supposed to be in Nashville, please put me there.’ He sure didn’t waste any time! A day later I found the perfect spot on a farm where I could even keep my horse as well! I will forever be grateful for the life Las Vegas has given me but it was time to move. I hope this song helps inspire others to follow your heart, don’t be scared of change, and follow that Restless Wind!”

CS: Is there a certain lyric within “Restless Wind” that you truly resonate with or especially proud of?

SIENA: “The first half of the chorus “And I’ll drive straight through, I’ll walk if I have to, ‘Cause I gotta be the girl I was born to be” is probably the most special line in the song because I’ve known singing and performing country music was what I’ve always wanted to do. Hence, ‘being the girl I was born to be.’”

CS: You have gone from sharing the stage with Rascal Flatts, Big & Rich, and Rodney Atkins to name a few – to releasing your own original music, how has that journey been for you?

SIENA: I’ll just say, it has been a journey! I’ve learned so much from watching folks like them on stage, how they interact with their audience, and that they’re just regular people like us! I am very proud of myself for singing on any kind of stage big or small. It helps shape you into the artist you want to be. I really look forward to putting out new music that I’m passionate about.”

CS: What does the process look like when you create a song? Are there any quirks to your method?

SIENA: “There really aren’t any ‘directions’ to writing a song. Either the chords, lyrics, or a simple hum could come first. For me, I like to make sure I write a good hook! I think that’s most important to me. And of course telling the story!”

CS: When did you realize singing was a passion of yours and decided to pursue it?

SIENA: “I always knew singing was my passion. My mom and I would be driving in the truck and I’d be singing to country radio trying to remember all the lyrics from ear to ear! I had always been in choir in grade school, then onto guitar, piano, and voice lessons around 8 years old. I was even in a country girl group from young teen ages then started my solo career at about 18. After that I really dove into the artist I wanted to be.”

CS: You are also quite the rodeo queen yourself as we can see all over your Instagram! How long have you been riding and how has it been to be able to incorporate your love of horses within your music?

SIENA: “I can say I basically grew up on horseback! My mother and I have bred, raised, and trained many English and western show horses which included traveling and going to horse shows. But in later years I started team roping and some barrel racing, which is such an adrenaline rush. I’m proud to say when I mention horses or doing outdoor activities in my songs, I’m telling my truth and how I live.”

CS: A true woman of many traits we also cannot pass up on the fact that you enjoy welding! How did you pick up on that hobby? Do you think in any way you can consider it a stress reliever when in between crafting music?

SIENA: “My hobby for welding started from horses actually! I was hauling a project horse to give to my roping partner, Chance. His dad Shawn is a mechanic and was stick welding on the base of a hitch plate. I asked if I could try. It took me a second to catch a spark but I figured it out! I had the idea of making horse shoe art, so I did just that! I switched from a stick weld to an electric wire fed, it’s a little easier to use. Welding is a stress reliever and I’ve also learned how different metals react to different heat and chemicals.”

CS: What else can fans expect from you this year?

SIENA: “Lots of new music and possibly another video! Along with playing live as much as I can.”

CS: Do you have any goals for yourself in 2023 career-wise?

SIENA: “One of my goals is to release my EP, thus crafting a new album and play at Cowboy Christmas during the National Finals Rodeo.”

CS: Lastly, since we are Celeb Secrets, do you have any secrets about either yourself or your music that fans might not know?

SIENA: “Hmm, well smart women never tell their secrets! But I will be releasing a song that just might be about a country singer I met. We had fun and he left a great impression on me. That’s all I can say!”
