Issac Ryan Brown Paves Way for Long-Term Stardom with Release of Debut EP “What I’m On” (Exclusive)

Disney Channel superstar Issac Ryan Brown, better known as Booker Baxter-Carter from the hit show Raven’s Home, has been working on quite a few projects lately, ultimately creating a very diverse future for himself beyond his television success.

The talented 17-year-old has been killing it on the Disney Channel as one of the stars of the incredibly successful That’s So Raven spinoff, as well as co-hosting Disney’s Magic Bake-Off alongside Dara Reneé from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. He officially expanded his presence in the music industry by releasing his first EP called What I’m On earlier this summer, and spoke to Celeb Secrets all about making his musical debut.

This seven-track EP with a cool R&B style really sets the tone for all of the future music Isaac Ryan Brown has underway. Issac says some of his biggest musical inspirations are Usher, Chris Brown, and Michael Jackson, and after taking a listen, this really translates into his new EP.

When asked what caused him to start making more music, he said that he’s “always loved music,” however, it wasn’t until the pandemic hit that he decided to put the pen to paper and let fans see a side of him that they’ve never seen before.

“People aren’t really getting any content from anywhere, so I said, let’s go ahead and, you know, make this music and make the videos for it and release it for my fans to see,” he shared.

Aside from being an actor and singer, Brown has a big heart and wants to make a difference in his community, specifically in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. He recently hosted his very own backpack drive as a part of the “I Can” Literacy Foundation, an organization that Issac founded with his family.

The “I Can” Literacy Foundation’s mission is to encourage America’s youth to set goals for themselves using “I Can ____” sentences, and the program itself has a special emphasis on literacy. The organization’s annual backpack drive began in 2020, and just occurred a few weeks ago for the third time. Here, Issac and his family filled backpacks with various books and school supplies and give them away to the children of Detroit in order “to get [them] excited about school.”

When asked about the inspiration behind this organization, Isaac revealed to Celeb Secrets that it was primarily started as a way to give back and pay tribute to his community.

“The illiteracy rate in Detroit was borderline 50 percent…,” he said. “I want people to get out there and read, hopefully they’ll be inspired and want to read a little bit more due to the ‘I Can’ Literacy Foundation.”

“We had 250 backpacks… It a big success and [they] didn’t have any leftover,” he added.

Aside from just giving out the backpacks, fans could come meet Issac, and he even performed some songs from his new EP live. It was overall a really fun way to combine his passions into one big event that simultaneously serves his community.

We can’t wait to see what more Issac Ryan Brown had in store, but until then, be sure to listen to “What I’m On” below and let us know which song you enjoy most by either leaving a reaction at the bottom of the post or by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets.
