Jojo Siwa’s coming out journey just got more even more endearing and we are loving every moment of it!
The 17-year-old pop quadruple threat sat down with Jimmy Fallon virtually over Zoom earlier this week and talked about how the experience has been and revealed that she is currently in a relationship!
Siwa caused speculation a few weeks ago when she posted TikTok videos that hinted at her sexuality. A few hours after the videos were uploaded, she confirmed that she was a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, tweeting a photo of her wearing a shirt that said “BEST. GAY. COUSIN. EVER.” with the caption, “My cousin got me a new shirt.”
“It was the most love I think I ever received,” Siwa confesses to Fallon, “And the coolest thing about it was that it was just by me showing the world the last little of me that they haven’t seen yet and it was really awesome.”
When discussing how her coming out journey came about, Siwa also disclosed to the late night talk show host that she has “the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world.”
Siwa’s girlfriend was actually the one to encourage her to tweet the photo that officially confirmed her coming out! She told Fallon that ten minutes prior to posting the photo, she told her publicist that she didn’t want to confirm it yet, but with a little encouragement from her girlfriend, she eventually decided to post the photo!
It wasn’t until two days after she posted the photo that Siwa realized it was a risky move for her to post that photo, but the pop star told Fallon she didn’t want to live a life of not be being able to love who she wanted to love, even if it did mean that she would lose everything she created.
She told Fallon what she told her girlfriend when she came across this realization.
“Technically, that was a really big risk that I took posting that,” Siwa says, “But if I lost everything that I’ve created because of being myself and loving who I want to love, I don’t want it. That’s not what I want. If I can’t love who I want to love, that’s one of the most important things to me”
Siwa also reveals that she’s been at her happiest and we love to see her thriving in her best element!
