WWE Star Lean Van Dale Opens Up About Why She Thinks ‘It’s Important to Just Be Real and Authentic’ as She Shies Away From Her Persona, Carmella (Exclusive)

While she is primarily known for performing under the name Carmella as a WWE wrestler, Leah Van Dale is shifting more towards fashion, beauty and lifestyle content in 2023.

Boasting over three million followers on Instagram alone, Leah has recently been using her platform to separate Carmella from who she truly is, sharing more of her personal life and passions beyond just wrestling.

“Working in WWE under the name of Carmella, I mean, she is so over the top extra, so I think it’s important, I think over the last few years, to sort of show my audience who I am — who Leah is — outside of the ring,” she shared in an exclusive interview with Celeb Secrets.

“I’ve just been having a lot of fun, just dabbling more into showing my who I am in my everyday life — I’m a stepmom. I have three stepkids. I’m a wife. I’m a sister,” and now a soon-to-be mother!

Leah recently took to social media to share the news that she is pregnant, with several posts documenting her experience with pregnancy so far.

On May 1st, Leah announced that her and her husband Matthew Polinsky, also known by his WWE persona Corey Graves, are expecting their first child together.

In a heartfelt Instagram post with stunning images showcasing her pregnancy, she wrote, “After every storm there is a rainbow 🌈 Our little miracle is due this November and we couldn’t be more thrilled 🥹🤍”

Since the initial announcement, the 35-year-old has taken to Instagram to post TONS of behind-the-scenes content regarding her pregnancy, including a reel of her telling her step kids that they will be having a new sibling, a reel sharing protein-rich meal ideas for soon-to-be mothers, a reel sharing her struggles with her first trimester and more.

Given that Leah experienced not one, but TWO miscarriages this past year, we are SO excited for her to take on this journey.

As we previously mentioned, the Massachusetts native is starting to share more of her passions on social media, many of which fall into the fashion, beauty and lifestyle spaces.

One of Leah’s passions, aside from wrestling, is taking risks when it comes to her personal style, which she is definitely starting to share more about on her platforms.

When it comes to her go-to look, the WWE superstar revealed, “I just like to be a little daring… I really like to push the envelope.”

“I like to do things that not a lot of people would want to do or wear,” she elaborated. “I’m gonna wear crop tops in the winter… I really just like to push the envelope and kind of be a little edgy, you know, when appropriate.”

She even teased to us that she may have some fashion-related projects in the works…

“I’m big of manifestation, so I’m trying to put things out there, things that I’m trying, goals that I wanna accomplish. I would love to have my own clothing line one day, but I know I have to take baby steps. I’m not just gonna like, dive right in creating a my own line,” Leah teased, going on to reveal that she would love to have a collaboration of some kind in the near future.

“I guess you’ll just have to wait and find out. Some special things are in the works, so stay tuned,” she said with a smirk.

Aside from her fashion-related content, Leah Van Dale is known for keeping it real online, and she even shared with us how she tries to promote self-confidence on her various platforms.

“I really like to post no filter, no makeup selfies once in a while,” she dished. “I think that’s really important because I know as a woman, I have young women on my platform looking at me and comparing themselves to me. I compare myself to so many different women I see on social media, when in reality, I know like that’s not who they are every single day, all day. That’s not what they look like, and I think it’s really important to remind people of that.”

“Yes, I like to get dolled up and look cute and wear nice things, but most of the time I’m wearing sweats and I don’t have makeup on, and I wanna share that with my audience as well, so people can see that it’s not always what it seems,” Leah continued with a giggle.

As for advice she would give to those struggling with their self-confidence, the social media sensation shared, “I’m all about like faking it till you make it.”

“I think it’s important to just, if you’re not where you want to be in life, you project the image that you want. You project the life that you want, or manifest and put things out there. Put things out into the universe,” Leah elaborated.

“No one’s where they want to be. No one’s happy with where they are all the time, and I think it’s important to just sort of, you know, manifest what it is you want and know that wherever you are, that doesn’t mean that’s where you’re always gonna be,” she concluded passionately.

We are LOVING this new side of Leah Van Dale, and we cant wait to see her continue to let her walls down and share her true self throughout the remainder of 2023, including her pregnancy journey.
