The Princess of Wakanda is back!
After suffering a stunt injury on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever last August, Letitia Wright has agreed to return to filming.
The British actress’ spokesperson told BBC News, “Filming resumed this month as planned and we’re on schedule.”
While filming in Boston, Wright suffered a stunt injury that was seen as “minor,” however, she had to be hospitalized and was in recovery for five months. Production was paused in November while Wright recovered, as the film could not be done without her.
For those who don’t know, Letitia plays “Shuri” in the franchise, who is the Princess of Wakanda and the sister of “T’Challa” — aka Black Panther — played by the late Chadwick Boseman.
According to Marvel, Shuri will take on a much bigger role in Black Panther 2 due to Boseman’s passing. Marvel has previously confirmed that “Black Panther” would not be recasted, and we will definitely be seeing more of the Princess of Wakanda’s unique and breathtaking inventions.
Set to be released in November 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also stars Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Daniel Kaluuya, Martin Freeman, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, among others.
