LILHUDDY Talks About Working With Travis Barker And His Upcoming Music In Spotify’s ‘Rock This with Allison Hagendorf’

Chase Hudson, aka LILHUDDY, was the most recent guest on Spotify’s Rock This with Allison Hagendorf, and he revealed all things about his new music, his rise to fame, and more!

The TikTok influencer turned rising rockstar has already had an incredible year by far. He made his acting debut in Machine Gun Kelly‘s Downfalls High and released two singles: “21st Century Vampire” and “The Eulogy of You and Me.” And now he just revealed that he’s working on a full album with legendary drummer Travis Barker!

Alongside co-writing “The Eulogy of You and Me” with Barker, LILHUDDY tells Hagendorf that he’s also been in the studio working with him on a full-length album that they’re planning to release this summer! He also talks about what a unique experience it has been to work with the visionary himself personally.

“Everyone he [Barker] works with, he does differently than anyone else because he hears what he hears with that song specifically,” LILHUDDY states.

This isn’t the first time the pair have worked with one another! Barker and LILHUDDY both worked on Machine Gun Kelly’s Downfalls HighLILHUDDY admits that the pop-punk musical film was the first time he had ever done acting in his life. When he got the message from MGK himself about taking on the main lead, he didn’t even think twice about accepting the role, despite his lack of acting experience.

“I went to four acting classes within the week that I had before I started filming,” he confesses.

As fate would have it, the release of Downfalls High aligned with the release of his first single, “21st Century Vampire.” LILHUDDY saw the role as an incredible opportunity because they perfectly “follow up right next to each other.”

His debut single, “21st Century Vampire,” celebrates the outcasts that feel comfortable in their skin and the proclamation to “just be yourself.” He also talked about how the single ties in with his own real-life experiences growing up and feeling out of place himself. It wasn’t until he found a community on social media that he felt like people understood him.

LILHUDDY revealed that “21st Century Vampire” is only the introduction to the album and that fans should expect the unexpected when it releases. Although the single is not sonically comparable to the other tracks on the album, he compares the debut single to the start of a video game.

“It’s like, OK, this is your character,” the artist begins to explain, “Here’s a storyline. Like that’s kind of how I think 21st Century Vampire is compared to all of my other music.”

While there is a storyline throughout the album, he also explains that all of the songs on the album’s main connection is him. The album will discuss the stories of every relationship the singer has been through throughout his life.

We’re so excited to take a step into LILHUDDY’s world when the album releases this summer!
