Mila Nabours Illustrates Her “Vision” of Finding Herself with New EP (Exclusive)

Mila Nabours is illustrating her VISION with a three-song EP that we can’t get enough of.

The tracks — “Hypnosis,” “New Moon,” and “Catch Me” — are all summer anthems that tell a coming-of-age story of a young teen trying to find herself while inspiring others to do the same.

Mila draws listeners in with her captivating vocals, as the rich tones and lyrics of each song keep audiences engaged and invested. “These songs were inspired by finding the most genuine vision of myself, and discovering who I truly am while expanding my boundaries. I was inspired to write from a wholesome place that relates with me, especially throughout sometimes rocky teenage years,” she exclusively tells Celeb Secrets.

Nabour’s press team explains that VISION speaks to a generation of teens trying to discover themselves and their life’s direction in a post-Covid world.

“Hypnosis” explores the voice in Mila’s head telling her to escape reality and enter a “hypnotic universe” in order to be euphoric and free; while“New Moon” reflects on pushing away negative energy to be able to fully embrace who you are becoming. Just like the “new moon” is the first phase in a moon cycle, Mila’s song refers to the beginning of a complete version of herself. Lastly, “Catch Me” is all about getting out of your comfort zone in order to let go of the barriers that are holding you back to free your creative energy.

Co-produced by Chris Scott (So You Think You Can Dance) and Miguel Palmero (Next Level) under the direction of famed pop, hip-hop, and R&B producer Andrew Lane (Backstreet Boys, Irene Cara), the mantra of breaking free rings loud and clear in this trio of summer hits.

This is exciting news for the young triple threat, as she only began pursuing her music career at the beginning of the pandemic. The multi-hyphenated teen sat down with Celeb Secrets in back in March to discuss her plans to shift to music, and we are so proud of her and the project she’s shared with the world.

Celeb Secrets: Can you tell us about your journey to this specific career path? When did your love of music start? Is it a recent passion?

Mila Nabours: “Up until last year during the start of the pandemic, I wasn’t really involved with music much. I had been acting and dancing, but never got a chance to begin singing. Singing has always been something I’d love to do in my free time, but it wasn’t till last year that I started writing and recording songs. When COVID struck, I made a connection with music producer Andrew Lane, who up until now has guided me through my entire journey. Along with my classically trained musical parents, I feel confident every step of the way in releasing music!”

CS: We’re loving your new EP Vision! What inspired it?

MN: “Thank you! These songs were inspired by finding the most genuine vision of myself, and discovering who I truly am while expanding my boundaries. I was inspired to write from a wholesome place that relates with me, especially throughout sometimes rocky teenage years.”

CS: How would you describe your music? In terms of genre, style, and audience? Who and what are trying to reach with it?

MN: “I would describe my music as soulful and genuine, and the content that I write about I feel can relate with a wide audience, especially people possibly my age. my songs are upbeat, but also melodic and storytelling.”

CS: Your success is so impressive, especially at your age. How does it feel being a teenager and working musician? What challenges does this present to you?

MN: “I appreciate that! I am so grateful to be doing what I love, and every time I hear the final product of a song it is so fulfilling.”

CS: You were releasing content through the pandemic – What lessons did you learn during this lock down and how do they relate to the content you create?

MN: “I think that this lockdown has really encouraged us to get creative with our content, and it has also given us the time to interact with our followers and grow our platforms!”

CS: Some people might not know that you used to be a competitive gymnast and dancer! You even won awards for these talents — what skills did you take away from these crafts and how do they manifest in your performance career?

MN: “My gymnastics career really engraved discipline and strength into me, and to this day I use my acrobatic tricks to my advantage! I’ve even used my acrobatic skills in commercials and films!”

CS: Your parents are classical musicians. Your melodies certainly have a different sound, but how has their focus influenced your taste, your writing, or your thoughts on music? How has it influenced your upcoming EP?

MN: “I like my songs to have a strong melody and rhythm, and having their influence helps me lock in a solid sounding piece of music. My parents help influence my writing when it comes to phrasing, as well, making sure that the structure fluidity is strong.”

CS: What artist or musical group do you garner most of your inspiration from? Is there a dream celeb you would like to work with?

MN: “I am inspired mostly by Chase Atlantic and the Weeknd. Their music is so interesting and genuine, and it would be an absolute dream come true to work with them or even meet them!”

CS: It is so awesome to see influencers like yourself using your platform for good. You have lent your voice to bring awareness to autism through charity SPREADING THE LOVE. How has your work with them shaped future career goals, and what lessons did you learn during this collaboration?

MN: “From collabing with them, I’ve gathered much joy in knowing that I can be influencing such a strong message to my audience. I’ve learned that spreading awareness about autism is so important when it comes to the young generation, and demonstrating an accepting atmosphere.”

CS: What do your plans look like after this EP release? Are you consistently creating new music? Do you have plans for live performances?

MN: “After this EP I will definitely be releasing more singles and possibly even an album! I’m looking to begin performing live more, it is actually a dream of mine and I absolutely love to perform!”

CS: Since we are Celeb Secrets, do you have any secrets about Vision

MN: “It is my first time writing and recording a song IN SPANISH! Sneak peak, one of my songs includes Spanish in the chorus!”
