Disney+ just announced that the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special is streaming March 24, and yes, Miley Cyrus is returning home to the place where it all began.
Filmed in front of a live studio audience, the special will feature an exclusive, in-depth interview with Miley, hosted by Alex Cooper. Produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions, the event promises an intimate, nostalgic deep dive into the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters — and the double life that defined an entire generation.
Exactly two decades after its Disney Channel debut, Hannah Montana remains a cultural phenomenon. The Emmy®-nominated series didn’t just dominate kids’ TV, it reshaped music, fashion, and pop stardom. The franchise spawned 14 platinum and 18 gold albums worldwide, plus two feature films, including Hannah Montana: The Movie.
And the impact? Massive. The “Hannah Montana” catalog has racked up over half a billion hours streamed globally on Disney+, proving the fandom is still shining bright like a spotlight. And now, Miley is stepping back into that purple-lit world with fresh perspective and heartfelt nostalgia.
“‘Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am. According to Disney, fans can expect never-before-seen archival footage and the resurrection of some of the show’s most iconic sets — including the Stewart family living room and, yes, the legendary Hannah Montana closet (insert dramatic wig flip here).
