It’s official—an iCarly reboot is fast approaching and the news couldn’t have come at a better time!
While cutting open a sprinkle-coated birthday cake, 28-year-old Miranda Cosgrove (Carly Shay) stumbles upon a rolled up paper slip. Centered in the middle of the rainbow cake, the small paper holds an epic surprise! Cosgrove quickly unrolls it and shouts out the secret message: “iCarly premieres June 17 on Paramount!”
Amid the brief sneak-peek shot located in the Shay’s cluttered yet beloved Seattle-based apartment, we also get some major clues about who we can expect to see back on our TV screens. Original cast members Nathan Kress (Freddie Benson) and Jerry Trainor (Spencer Shay) will be making their return, along with the addition of two new cast members — Laci Mosley (Florida Girls) and Jaidyn Triplett (The Affair, See) — who play Carly’s roommate and Freddie’s stepdaughter, respectively.
“No exploding cake here, just the premiere date for the new #iCarly revival!,” Paramount writes in the caption next to a video clip that highlights Cosgrove’s big birthday surprise.

For those who didn’t grow up obsessing over top trends on Nickelodeon, iCarly, which ran from 2007-2012, followed a group of best friends — Carly (Miranda Cosgrove), Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and Freddie (Nathan Kress)– as they created a webcast for and about kids their age while grappling with everyday problems and adventures. During its initial run, iCarly became a pop-culture staple and regularly broke viewership records among audiences of all ages.
The 13-episode reboot season picks up nearly 10 years after the original show ended, and finds Carly Shay, the original influencer, and her friends navigating work, love and their family in their twenties.
