Knox is ready to show the world that he’s the next big thing.
The Nashville-based singer and songwriter, whose real name is Knox Morris, is seeing his dreams come true after he dropped out of college back in early 2019 to pursue a music career. What started out as a successful gig as a songwriter for other prominent artists turned into a record deal with Atlantic Records and eventually, a rapidly growing solo career.
Knox has had a whirlwind start to 2024, propelled by the recent success of his song “Not the 1975,” a nod to an encounter where someone doubted his ability to become the “next” Matty Healy from the band The 1975. The track not only was extremely successful on the Billboard charts, but also caught the attention of the band’s leader himself.
“He DMd me first and I DMd him back,” Knox told Celeb Secrets reporter Ilana Epstein about his brief interaction with the singer.
To date, the song has over 20M global streams while peaking at No 17 at Top 40 and Top 10 at Hot AC radio outlets nationwide.
Beyond his musical accomplishments, Knox is drawing large crowds at his shows. His inaugural festival performance at Hangout Fest in Alabama earlier this summer was a testament to his growing fan base.
“I was very surprised at how many people knew the words to my songs,” he shared. “I thought many were there to see Chappell Roan who was performing after me – I was shocked.”
“I just felt like the luckiest, coolest dude in the world that day,” he continued.

Keeping the momentum for the entire season, the “Sneakers” singer reunited with one of his favorite bands and hit the road supporting The Band Camino last month before shutting down Grant Park in Chicago for an epic performance at Lollapalooza last weekend. Showing that he really takes no days off, Knox will be hitting up various college towns to kick off the semester for his Varsity Tour beginning Wednesday, August 21st at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, GA. The nine-day run will end on Friday, August 30th in Tuscaloosa, AL inside the David City Music Hall.
“It’s been a very busy year, but it’s been a blast. I’ve been enjoying every second of it. I do miss my dog though,” Knox says with a smile before adding, “I chose this… I wanted it to be like that.”

While fans are guaranteed to hear Knox’s recently released tracks like “Here’s To Us,” “Me Myself & Your Eyes,” and “Change Your Mind,” on tour, they will also be able to experience some of his newer material, like his upbeat track “Treadmill.” The song, which dropped at the end of June, arrived alongside an official music video following its broadcast premiere on NickMusic and on the world famous Paramount billboard in Times Square.
As for what he hopes to conquer next, Knox tells Celeb Secrets that all he wants to do is what he really loves — putting out music and performing at venues worldwide.
“I just want to keep putting out music that I love, keep playing shows and keep selling tickets. Whether that finds me being the biggest freaking artist ever or whatever it is… as long I just get to go to a studio every day with my best friends and make music that I care about and that I believe in… that’s my goal,” he shares.
“With that being said, I’ve been so lucky. I’m signed to the best record label in the world, so I have the opportunities to make this as crazy and wild and big as we can, so I’m definitely going to try and see what happens. We have the chance, so might as well see how far we can take it.”
