Netflix’s “Sexy Beasts” Takes Dating Shows To The Next Level (Watch)

Just when you thought dating shows couldn’t get any more bizarre, Netflix has proved us all wrong again with their latest production, Sexy Beasts.

This crazy concept for a show, premiering on Netflix on July 21st, is another “Love Is Blind” type dating show, where the participants are attempting to fall in love with personality first and looks second.

The trailer for this new show drops today (June 23) and it surely gives viewers a lot of insight on what to expect in this upcoming series.

Sporting some exotic makeup and prosthetics, this show sets two singles up on a blind date, a literal blind date, in which they are both dressed in very fascinating get-ups. The wardrobe on this show is a must-see!

Testing true blind dating success, this show pushes the limits and places individuals in public together in a wild costume, drawing stares and questionable looks from many strangers. Narrator Rob Delaney explains the objective of the series in the trailer by saying, “Could you fall in love with someone based on personality alone?”

Right from the start, the trailer gives viewers a good idea of what they can expect when tuning into this show. The clip opens with a woman in a panda costume talking to her date at a restaurant, who is dressed in a bull costume. She comes off strong, saying, “I want to get married, I want to have babies before I’m, like, 26. Do you have health insurance?”

The chaotic nature of this conversation is a great segway into the show and what it is going to be like.

This show is very reminiscent of the Netflix original Love Is Blind, in which the contestants had to get to know each other behind closed doors first, decide if they wanted to get engaged, and then reveal their faces to each other after engagement. The idea was to fall in love with someone’s personality first and then their looks later.

The same goes for this show, just in a more public manner and in much more exotic costumes!

Don’t miss the series premiere on July 21st, and let us know if you plan on watching by commenting below this post, or send us a tweet at @celebsecrets
