Keith Urban made our week and finally dropped “the record that — according to the country star — “didn’t want to make.”
Before sharing High with the world today (September 20), the 56-year-old admitted that he struggled with finding the right sound for his latest offering, and that he originally had another album ready to go before “scrapping it.”
”I scrapped another album. I finished an album in early 2023, 13 tracks, and decided to scrap pretty much the whole thing. Sometimes, if I don’t know what to do, I’ll start with figuring out what I don’t want to do, and I made the record that I didn’t want to make apparently to figure out which one I did want to make.”
The record features previously released singles “MESSED UP AS ME” and “GO HOME W U” featuring Lainey Wilson and travels through all things “animalistic, wild, reckless” and “irresponsible. It shows a new side of the singer since his 2020 release, THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1.
