You guys should know the drill by now. Since you love our New Music Friday roundups, here is our New Music Friday: K-Edition!
As always, we’ll be sharing with you our favorite Korean music releases of the week ranging from K-Pop, K-R&B, K-Rap, and lots more, including Japanese releases from your favorite Korean artists. Rest assured, all of these will be bops because we don’t do skips around here.
As previously mentioned in NMFK, Monsta X announced their third Japanese album, Flavors of love, last month and released the title track “Flavors of love” in anticipation. The 11-track album was finally released on May 5 and features new songs like “RE:VERSEDAY,” “Diamond heart,” and “Secret,” along with re-recorded Japanese-language versions of their hit Korean songs like “Follow” and “Love Killa.”
Monsta X also dropped both a music video and a performance video for “Flavors of love.” The music video is very colorful and cute, and follows Jooheony, Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, and I.M., as they hang out together and spend some time in the recording studio. In the performance video, the members sing the sweet pop song on a simple set while dressed in white and denim outfits, showing off their beautiful vocals and honey-like harmonies.
The six-member group also announced their highly anticipated Korean comeback since their 2019 release Fatal Love. This upcoming project, titled One Of A Kind, is set to release on June 1 and will be the group’s ninth mini-album.
This week also found a ton of releases from some of our favorite groups and soloists; including Highlight, SUMIN featuring Zion.T, Classmate; with new releases from NCT Dream, BIBI, Super Junior’s Yesung; and an album release from AILEE.
