New Music Friday: Olivia Rodrigo Makes Her Return to Music With Brand New Single “vampire,” Which Helped Her ‘Sort Through Lots of Feelings of Regret, Anger and Heartache’

Olivia Rodrigo is entering a brand new era on this wonderful New Music Friday!

Today (June 30th), the talented singer-songwriter dropped “vampire” on all music streaming platforms, serving as the first glimpse into her highly-anticipated sophomore album, GUTS.

The GRAMMY Award-winning artist recently announced her upcoming project via social media, sharing in a tweet, “my sophomore album GUTS comes out september 8th. i am so proud of this record and I can’t wait to share it with you all! u can presave it now! xoxoxoxo❤️💜💌🖤”

GUTS will serve as the follow-up to her critically-acclaimed album that dropped in 2021 titled SOUR, which featured smash hits like “good 4 u,” “drivers license,” “traitor” and more. If Olivia’s new wave of music anything like her previous project, we know that her forthcoming album will be nothing short of spectacular!

The pop princess shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the creation of “vampire” and its beloved music video via social media, along with a caption that dives into the true meaning of the track.

“vampire song and video out now 🧛🏼 I made it with my very talented wonderful friend @dan_nigro last winter and created the video with the incredible @petrafcollins. writing this song helped me sort through lots of feelings of regret, anger and heartache. it’s one of my favorite songs on the album and it felt very cathartic to finish. im so happy it’s in your hands now and I hope it helps u deal with any bloodsuckers in your life,” she shared in a tweet.
