Nick Jonas Will Be Honored with the “Hero” Award at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards

Nick Jonas is going back to his Disney roots!

The 24-year-old singer and three-time nominee will be attending the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards next month, Radio Disney confirms. Jonas will receive the Hero Award during the live telecast an it will be presented to him by longtime friend and fellow advocate Jack Black.

Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 13 years old, Jonas helped found Beyond Type 1, a non-profit organization which leverages the power of social media and technology to provide resources for those living with Type 1 diabetes, and provides funding for research, education, advocacy and programs to improve the lives of those living with Type 1 diabetes.

Hosted by Alex Aiono, Kelsea Ballerini, Sofia Carson, Jordan Fisher, and Jenna Ortega, the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards will feature performances by Train, Alessia Cara, Ballerini, and Fisher. The show will take place on Saturday, April 29th and air across all Disney platforms on Sunday, April 30th at 7PM ET/PT.
