Niki and Gabi Make Highly-Anticipated YouTube Comeback (Watch)

Some of our favorite YouTube stars are finally back in action and they won’t be disappearing on us anytime soon.

To address their relationship issues of the past, twin sisters Niki and Gabi DeMartino had to briefly step back from the YouTube scene. But was it really a break? In the short span of almost four months, Niki became a brunette, Gabi got engaged to her longtime BF Collin Vogt over Thanksgiving, and the dynamic duo somehow managed to film a reality show on top of it all!

Since going public on Mar. 21, their latest video titled “We’re Back & Where We’ve Been . . .” has garnered over half a million views, quickly earning a spot in YouTube’s list of trending content.

As soon as the new piece begins, viewers are reeled into the channel’s history with adorable flashbacks that show clips of Niki and Gabi welcoming fans in their teenage years. Then, we hear a ringing tune as Gabi picks up the phone.

Niki, I miss posting on the channel! We need to come back,” she exclaims. Luckily for her, Gabi agrees, and they proceed to host a sit-down discussion where fans get the tea on why the sisters are back and what’s changed in their lives over the long intermission.

Watching the intro, it all seems so simple. However, Niki and Gabi did so much more than one quick phone call to prepare for the video launch. Just to gain more editorial control over their own content, the sisters had to downsize their team.

After reflecting, Niki and Gabi realized they hired more staff to run the show in an attempt to compensate for the rough patch they were going through as sisters. Now that they’ve mended the drama, Niki and Gabi no longer need such a large staff; they’re looking for a much more organic vibe going forward.

Over the break, they also had the chance the experiment with some new TikToks in a much more casual setting. Some of their TikToks even went viral, so they plan on achieving similar levels of success with their YouTube channel by sharing more intimate moments with fans.

Although it may seem like this pair has it all together, Niki and Gabi admitted it took a lot of soul-searching to spark such a healthy connection.

Since filming practically every day in 2015, Gabi said she didn’t feel genuine anymore. Instead, she reveals in the video that it was almost like putting on a performance for the viewers. “I lost myself,” she says.

Niki could also tell Gabi wasn’t being her true self. She says Gabi used to dodge heavy and personal questions, but after the break, she’s not afraid to be honest and intimate.

Taking a breather from a demanding schedule allowed the duo to reflect on who they really are as individuals. “I feel genuinely at ease with myself,” Niki said.

Our favorite sisters realize sustaining this level of inspiration and positive energy won’t be an easy feat. That’s why they plan on redecorating the house to keep things fresh.

Rather than aiming to post new content almost every day, Niki and Gabi have agreed to take on a natural schedule that will include posting on Sundays and occasionally on Wednesdays too. This will allow them to ensure they both love what they’re doing, without getting too overwhelmed.
