Normani and Cardi B are heating things up with the music video for their track, “Wild Side!”
In the four-minute long video, the singer features a total of EIGHT costume changes and set locations! One of those changes includes a brief nude scene with Cardi B. The artists cover themselves up with their long hair as they hug each other on a platform surrounded by hanging chains. In conjunction with these iconic looks, the singer delivers with a number of mesmerizing dance routines.
According to NPR, Normani samples the song “One in a Million” by legendary R&B artist, Aaliyah. Fans immediately noticed the sample and raved about it on Twitter. One user said, “Normani is the only artist to have sampled Aaliyah correctly.” Normani later confirmed the information with a quote tweet of the news adding, “let’s goooooooooo.”
Many celebrities have been sending their love to the singer on social media. Ariana Grande reposted the video teaser to her Instagram Story with a series of exclamation posts and white heart emojis. SZA commented, “So hard ❤️,” on the singer’s first post after the music video dropped. Lil Nas X even took to Twitter to mention Normani directly, calling the video “the best video I have ever seen in my entire life.”
Throughout the day, Normani has been interacting with fans on Twitter and talking about her experience with the making of the music video. She noted how intense it was because of her desire to experiment with different choreography styles. Cardi B has also been celebrating the release of the song on the social media platform. She revealed that she was already pregnant when the music video was filmed!
“Wild Side” is Normani’s first single since 2019. She blew everyone away with the music video for her debut solo song, “Motivation.” While a full-length album has yet to be announced, we are so excited to see what she will do next!
