1. Rodrigo opens up the film with an ethereal mashup of her songs, “Happier” and “Deja Vu.”
To start off the SOUR Prom experience, we see Rodrigo all dressed up as she leaves her house in a white limousine. Accompanying the singer on the ride to prom is her guitarist.
Together, they are surrounded by balloons and paper butterflies hanging from above. Rodrigo picks up a microphone sitting next to her and starts singing verses from her song, “happier.” As her driver toggles the radio, the song changes to “deja vu.” The view outside of the window also changes to purple, pink, and blue visuals. Alas, the unforgettable “happier/deja vu” mashup is born!
