Super Bowl LVI is only a few weeks away, and Pepsi is getting us hyped for their epic Halftime Show with a trailer starring their headlining performers.
In the video titled “The Call,” we see Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show performers Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar come together for the first-time ever to lead up to what could be the greatest 12 minutes in music entertainment the world has ever seen.
Director F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, Friday, The Fate of the Furious) pays tribute to all five artists and the impact they’ve had on culture.
“Each time I collaborate with Dre, it seems to mark an important moment in entertainment history, from projects like Friday, Set It Off, Straight Outta Compton, to now the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show,” shared F. Gary Gray in a press release. “As a super fan, I consider it an honor and privilege to authentically build and create this moment with five of the most legendary artists in music history. It’s been a blast!”
Similar to a long-expected, energy-fueled blockbuster film, The Call is inspired by the iconic music videos and tracks created within the two decades. It acknowledges the biggest and most recognized hitmakers that represent our generation with their music such as Los Angeles native, Dr. Dre.
We then get a glimpse of Eminem in a battle with his younger self along with Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar as the camera travels its way through their individual artistic journeys. Dr. Dre then gives each one of them a call to make their way to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California for what will soon become the best Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show ever.
The Omni-talented, Emmy-nominated music director and Grammy award-winning writer Adam Blackstone also took part in the creation of “The Call.” He also formed part of the iconic tracks “Rap God,” “The Next Episode,” “Family Affair,” “HUMBLE,” “Still D.R.E,” and “Calfornia Love” which are also heard playing in the trailer.
The video is #1 in trending on YouTube and we guarantee it will get you dancing. You can see the trailer below.
