The Philadelphia Phillies are still doing all they can do to help improve their chances of competing for a World Series title. The reigning NL Champs have added multi-time All-Star Closer Craig Kimbrel to their bullpen on a one-year $10 million contract.
This is a significant addition for the Phillies, as they had struggled in the bullpen department for a while before last season with lots of inconsistency and unreliability. As for Kimbrel, he is one of the all-time greats at the closer position and will now have the chance to compete for a ring in Philadelphia.

The Phillies must also be extra aggressive than a couple of weeks ago due to their rivals, the New York Mets, recent aggressiveness in adding star players to their roster. This coming season is set to be a historic race in the NL East as the Phillies, Mets, and Braves are considered World Series contenders, with the Nationals as a potential wild-card playoff team.
The Phillies may continue attempting to add more depth to their bullpen and perhaps in other areas of their team, as they came close to winning a title last season. With other teams like the Mets improving in the offseason, Philadelphia cannot afford to sit back and play it safe if they genuinely want to compete for a championship in the 2023 season.
