Love triangles…can’t live with them, can’t live without them!
Phillipa Soo, Simu Liu, and Luke Bracey are set to star in the film adaptation of the bestselling book, “One True Loves,” by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
According to Variety, the story focuses on a woman who finds herself at the center of a love triangle with two unusual partners: her husband who she thought was dead and her fiancé who has given her life a new meaning. Sounds fascinating already!
Andy Fickman is attached to direct. He is known for classic films like She’s the Man, The Game Plan, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.
Soo is best known for her role as Eliza Schulyer Hamilton in the original Broadway company of Hamilton: An American Musical. You might have also recognized her voice as Chang’e in the 2020 animated film, Over the Moon.
As our new favorite Marvel superhero, Liu will be gracing the silver screen in September as Shang-Chi in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. You can catch him in the final season of Kim’s Convenience, which just dropped on Netflix on Wednesday (June 2).
You may remember Bracey and Emma Roberts starring in last year’s holiday themed rom-com, Holidate, on Netflix. One of his upcoming projects includes Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic starring Austin Butler.
Soo and Liu are both of Asian American Pacific Islander descent. Soo being Chinese American and Liu being Chinese Canadian. Liu took to Twitter to convey his enthusiasm for the increase in Asian romantic leads in entertainment.
