The streets in Pittsburgh are buzzing as one of their own has returned home.
Pirates great Andrew McCutchen is once again a member of his first team. McCutchen will be signing a one-year deal worth $5 million and can be returning home to finish his career off where not only his career started but also where his stardom took off.
The All-Star outfielder took to social media to express his excitement.

McCutchen made his MLB debut in 2009 and would become one of the game’s best throughout his nine-year run with Pittsburgh, including being the MLB MVP in 2013, making five All-Star game appearances, winning four Silver Slugger Awards, winning a Gold Glove Award, and winning the Roberto Clemente Award.
Aside from the stats and on-field accolades, McCutchen also did tremendous work within the community as a citizen of Pittsburgh and was a big-time leader on and off the field throughout his first tenure with the club.
With that said, this seems like the perfect way for McCutchen to cap off a legendary career; it shows how much love and appreciation he has for Pirates fans and the organization that he would be willing to play one final year there than try to chase a World Series ring.
This should be a relief for some Pirates fans as the team has been in the news throughout the offseason due to All-Star centerfielder Bryan Reynolds requesting a trade, so this should at least decompose the heat the team has been receiving as of late.
