Newly signed Red Sox outfielder Adam Duvall has done an incredible job in his first season with the team, including leading the MLB in On-Base Plus Slugging Percentage, Slugging Percentage and tied for second in home runs and RBIs. With that said, Duvall will now be out for the foreseeable future after suffering a broken wrist.
The #RedSox today placed OF Adam Duvall on the 10-Day Injured List due to a left distal radius fracture (wrist).
To fill Duvall’s spot on the active roster, the club recalled INF Bobby Dalbec from Triple-A Worcester.

Duvall is mainly known for being a tremendous power hitter as he has hit many home runs for multiple teams, including the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves; Duvall won a World Series with Atlanta in 2021. Duvall has never received the praise for being such a successful hitter at the major league level. So far this season, Duvall was finally being praised for his production as a hitter.
Unfortunately, Duvall’s season is being cut short after what manager Alex Cora called a distal radius fracture in his left wrist. The 34-year-old slugger will not need surgery, which is huge for his health and his ability to return to the field as soon as possible.
Alex Cora just announced that Adam Duvall does NOT need surgery on his left wrist, this is the best possible scenario.

If anyone can bounce back from such a significant injury, it is Duvall, as he has consistently silenced the noise throughout his nine-year MLB career.
As for the Red Sox, this is a significant loss for a team that was not expected to do much winning coming into the season. However, injuries are part of sports, so the team must find a way to continue to push forward without an integral part of their squad.
