Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance are back for more adventures in the highly-anticipated second season of The Mysterious Benedict Society, exclusively on Disney+.
Mystic Inscho, Seth Carr, Emmy DeOliveira and Marta Kessler are reprising their roles as Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance, respectively, and in this season, the group of misfits must take on another crazy mission to save the world from Mr. Benedict’s (Tony Hale‘s) evil twin brother, Dr. L.D. Curtain. Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance embark on a wild scavenger hunt, set by Mr. Benedict of course, to destroy Dr. Curtain’s evil plans, and the kids must use their unique skills to solve the mysteries.
The two-episode season premiere came out on October 26th, and Celeb Secrets sat down with the stars of the series to talk all about what’s new in Stonetown.
Between season one and season two, it is clear that the characters undergo quite a few major changes. Inscho revealed to us that in season two, “Reynie has gotten taller. He’s gotten more confident. His voice has gotten deeper.” More importantly, “he learns just how to be true to himself.”
As for Carr’s character, Sticky, the growth was “definitely his confidence and how he takes things this season.” In season one, he was known for being timid and often on-edge, but he is “actually taking action this season,” which is a big sign of growth for Sticky.
“[Kate] grows a lot this season,” said DeOliveira. Not only does she have less reliance on her trusty bucket filled with tools, but “she learns to accept help from others to be vulnerable, and I think that’s a big step for her.”
Lastly, “Constance has a lot of different changes, and she even gets unrecognizable at some parts,” Kessler said. This comment is very interesting, and we can’t wait to see the meaning behind this intriguing physical transformation as the season progresses.
This series is not only action-packed, but it is also a heartfelt coming-of-age series that highlights themes of family, individuality and happiness.
“I think we’ve got an incredible message this season,” said Gia Sandhu who plays Ms. Peruma, Reynie’s tutor. “The topic of discussion is happiness.”
“We’re coming out of a globally difficult situation and I think, you know, people have had time to reflect and think about what’s important, what makes me happy, what changes do I want to make in my life. What we’re talking about this season is kind of a reflection of all of that. Life has ups and downs and, you know, a spectrum of emotions is actually a beautiful thing we should be embracing,” she added.
The Mysterious Benedict Society will release episodes weekly on Wednesdays, exclusively on Disney+, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of season two has in store!
