After six years, Live With Kelly and Ryan is no longer, as Ryan Seacrest officially co-hosted his final show on Friday morning with Kelly Ripa.
Seacrest and Ripa began hosting together several years ago after her previous co-host, Michael Strahan, decided to step away and take a role with Good Morning America. When Seacrest was hired as Strahan’s replacement, it seemed like a match made in heaven as there have been many comparisons over the years between Seacrest and Ripa’s original co-host, the late-great Regis Philbin.
However, after many years of traveling back and forth from California to New York, Seacrest decided to prioritize his work at home which includes On Air with Ryan Seacrest and American Idol; Seacrest will also continue to work on his annual New Year’s Eve Special, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

Seacrest’s replacement alongside Ripa will be her husband and Riverdale star, Mark Consuelos. Consuelos has been a fill-in host throughout the years in which Ripa has been on the show, so this will be nothing new for the former daytime soap actor.
Ripa took to social media with a thank you post for her long-time co-host; with that said, she is very excited about the opportunity to work with her husband daily.

All in all, although many fans are devastated, as the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end.”
