It’s a good day to be a real estate agent at the Oppenheim Group.
Netflix announced on Thursday (June 23) that Selling Sunset was renewed for season 6 and 7, with filming beginning this summer.
“CONGRATS to this fun lovable crazy group,” Chrishell Stause wrote on her Instagram. “Love our dysfunctional family!”
The Emmy-nominated docusoap follows female realtors at the Oppenheim Group as they navigate the Los Angeles market, and getting along with one another. Produced by Adam Divello’s Done and Done productions, cameras captures what goes on behind the scenes at the #1 agency in the Hollywood Hills and the Sunset Strip.
Netflix teased the coming seasons will have more drama and more high-priced luxury real estate.

“I couldn’t be happier to share the news and am so excited to continue this journey with my extended family,” real estate agent, Mary Fitzgerald wrote. “Thank you to everyone who has shown us so much support and love along the way!
The streaming service did not announce the cast of the next two seasons, leaving fans to wonder whether or not Christine Quinn will be making an appearance on the show.
During the Selling Sunset reunion special this year, Jason Oppenheim made it known that “there’s not a place” for Quinn at the agency.
To which she responded saying, “There’s not a place for me because I terminated my contract. [Jason] got a letter from my lawyers before the reunion. That’s why there’s not a place, because my license is hung somewhere else.”
Quinn and her husband, Christian Dumontet, opened their own brokerage, RealOpen, in April. It allows buyers to use crypto-currency in order to purchase a home.
She did tease the idea of a “battle of the brokerages,” saying her future on Selling Sunset could show her new company and The Oppenheim Group competing for listings.
When Celeb Secrets asked co-star Davina Potratz if that’s happening on the red carpet at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards – UNSCRIPTED earlier this month, she said, “I think that’s what [Christine] would like to have happen.” But whether or not that’s actually happening, Davina says, “I have no idea.”
Questions about her future on the show continued after her appearance on Call Her Daddy, where she called out Divello and his production company. She alleges he told her to “go fall down the stairs” and kill herself.
“There’s been complaints filed against him – multiple complaints… and it’s been sick,” Quinn told Alex Cooper.
One cast member who we know will for sure not be making a return is Maya Vander.
When the news came out about the renewal, she took to Instagram writing, “I’m very proud of my ‘Selling Sunset’ family for getting two more seasons and hopefully Emmy nomination. I decided to not go on with the show and it was not an easy decision.”
Instead, she’s focusing on growing her own agency, Maya Vander Group and joining Compass.
Since the show’s inception, Maya has traveled between Miami, FL and Los Angeles, CA. She did real estate in both locations but her family primarily lived in the Sunshine State.
The real estate agent revealed she suffered a miscarriage nearly six months after she had a still birth. Because of that, she’s focusing on being all in one place with her family.
“I just want to be home with my husband and beautiful kids who I adore,” she said.
The show has been a huge success since it was first released on Netflix in March 2019. Since its debut, it’s gone on to get an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program” and winning the MTV Movie & TV Award for “Best Docu-Reality Show” just a few weeks ago.
Now, Netflix is creating a spin-off show, Selling the OC. Along with the renewal announcement, the company revealed the new show will be released on August 24.
