The people are speaking once again!
Earlier today (January 11), NBC, Peacock and E! revealed that the 2024 People’s Choice Awards are back and in-person this year, airing on Sunday, February 18 from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA.
Additionally, the networks shared that actor and author Simu Liu will host this year’s show, which will celebrate all forms of entertainment, chosen entirely by the people. Liu is also nominated in the Movie Performance category for his role in the smash hit film Barbie. In 2021, he won Action Movie Star for Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and was nominated in the Male Movie Star category for the same role
“I’m so grateful to have been asked to step up to the hosting plate for the 2024 ‘People’s Choice Awards,’” Liu said in a statement. “It’s exciting to celebrate this incredible year in pop culture, and to do so with the incredible fans that make what we do possible.”
In case you didn’t know already, the number of categories has expanded to 45 this year across TV, movies, music and pop culture, with new additions like The Male Country Artist of the Year, The Female Country Artist of the Year, The Male Latin Artist of the Year and The Female Latin Artist of the Year. Among the many nominees are industry icons including Beyoncé, Leonardo DiCaprio, Taylor Swift, Ryan Gosling, Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, Pedro Pascal and Jennifer Aniston. Plus, reality TV favorites like Kim Kardashian, Ariana Madix and Charity Lawson are also up for awards.
Voting is now open on the official PCAs site here, so don’t forget to cast yours to make sure that your favorite celeb wins the award they deserve before the deadline on Jan. 19 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Additionally, votes cast on Turbo Tuesday, Jan. 16, will count twice, equaling a maximum of two votes per day, per category. The eligibility window for all categories is from the 2023 calendar year.
