If there’s one new artist you need to have on your radar this year, it’s Stevie Matthew. The 20-year-old musician, producer, and creative force from Los Angeles is crafting a sound that feels like Sunday soul sessions, date-night nostalgia, and summer night drives — all rolled into one. His debut single, “All the Time in the World,” featuring the legendary Eric Bellinger, is proof that this rising star isn’t just riding a wave — he’s creating one.
At a time when R&B is evolving in every direction, Stevie is carving out a lane that bridges past and present with precision. “I’m a musician first,” he tells Celeb Secrets in an exclusive interview. “So every record I make comes from real instruments.”
That’s not just a flex — it’s his foundation. His records breathe because they’re built from live basslines, warm strings, gritty drums, and melodies that don’t rely on algorithms to hit.

His debut single “All the Time in the World” didn’t come from a label brainstorm or a beat pack — it started with a guitar. “It started as an idea on the guitar and stayed stripped through writing it,” Stevie shares. “Weeks later, I went back and recorded the bass, drums, live strings & horns.” The song feels like it could’ve been pulled from a ’70s vinyl crate, but make it 2025 — smooth, romantic, and undeniably cool.
And then there’s Eric Bellinger, a Grammy-winning artist and R&B staple who hopped on the track and elevated it with his signature finesse. “Artist, vocalist, songwriter — he does it all,” Stevie says. “I’ve been a fan for a long time, but creating with him still shocked me. EB is a genius as much as he is an icon.” Coming from a student of the game like Stevie, that’s high praise — and it’s well-earned.
The record oozes effortless confidence and summer energy, but its emotional pull is what makes it stick. “The track is really inspired by all of the records that shaped me as a musician,” he explains. “When the feeling in the music was right, writing a romantic record felt effortless.” It’s honest, it’s personal, and it came straight from a real-life moment.
“I was in the studio telling a story, and the song came straight from that,” he adds.

Though comparisons to R&B greats come easy, Stevie’s sound is unmistakably his own — and that’s no accident. “It’s definitely intentional,” he says of his retro-modern blend. “I’ve studied my favorite music and artists deeply to craft my sound.” That obsessive musical study isn’t just homework — it’s his creative compass. His influences span decades and genres: Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, Con Funk Shun, and the Ohio Players. “At this point, when I’m creating, I’m making ‘Stevie Matthew music.’”
His creative process is fluid and spontaneous — think less scheduled session, more lightning strike. “My ideas almost always start outside of the studio,” he reveals. “Could be anything to spark an idea… talking to a girl, or at home watching Quincy. When those moments happen, I go straight to the studio. If I can get the bass and drums right, the song and production come effortlessly.”
With “All the Time in the World” setting the tone, Stevie’s upcoming debut album is already one of the most anticipated projects of the year. And according to him, fans should prepare for both the unexpected and the unforgettable. “I’m stoked for fans to hear these collaborations, and catch their favorite artists in different sonic and visual landscapes,” he teases. While he’s keeping the guest list close to the chest (for now), he’s already leaving breadcrumbs on socials — and if the Eric Bellinger collab is any indicator, he’s playing in A-list territory.

Fresh off signing a multi-seven-figure deal, Stevie is moving with the clarity and confidence of someone who knows exactly what he’s doing. “My recent record deal felt like the perfect way and people to expand my team as we prepare for this debut project,” he says. “The level of support allows and inspires me to make better music than I ever have.”
He’s not just chasing numbers — he’s chasing impact. “I’m always trying to bring back the feeling that my favorite old-school R&B records gave me the first time I heard them,” he says. And for those who’ve been missing that feeling? Stevie’s the answer.

Stevie Matthew isn’t trying to fit into the R&B scene — he’s reshaping it. With real instrumentation, timeless inspiration, and a voice that hits just as hard as his production, he’s reminding the world that music with feeling will always win. And as far as we’re concerned, Stevie’s got all the time in the world — but the rest of us better catch up quick.
