Our prayers have been answered!
ABC Family announced Wednesday (Oct. 21) that it has ordered another season of one of the cable network’s highest-rated original series, Switched at Birth.
It’s perfect timing too — right before the current fourth season comes to an end this Monday, October 26.
“Every season Switched at Birth continues to deliver fresh, relatable storylines that tackle important social issues, reflecting what our audience experiences daily,” Karey Burke, ABC Family exec vp of programming and development said in a statement. “We’re excited to see where Lizzy will take these characters next.”
Lizzy Weiss, creator and executive producer of the show, can’t wait for the next season, tweeting to fans, “I am so incredibly proud to announce that #SwitchedatBirth HAS BEEN PICKED UP FOR SEASON 5. We will hit 100 episodes, VERY BIG DEAL! CHEERS!”
100 episodes IS a big deal and we can’t wait to see what storylines the show throws at us next!
The fifth season of Switched at Birth will premiere in 2016, after the network has rebranded to Freeform.
Don’t forget to watch the season finale next week on Monday, October 26 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC Family!
