The Detroit Lions continue to work hard and get better as the Dan Campbell-led squad picked up their fifth win in the last six games with a 34-23 victory over division rivals, the Minnesota Vikings; with the win, Detroit moves to 6-7, while Minnesota falls to 10-3 on the year.
Jared Goff had a fantastic day for the Lions as the multi-time Pro Bowl quarterback finished the win with 330 yards and three touchdowns; Goff’s touchdown club was a trio of wideouts in DJ Chark, Josh Reynolds, and rookie Jameson Williams; Chark was the receiving leader on the day for the Lions as he added six receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown, while someone who did not have a touchdown but still had a great game was wideout, Amon-Ra St. Brown; St. Brown had six catches for 68 yards.
The passing offense was lights out and continues to shine week in and week out, a week after shining against the Jaguars. An unexpected recipient on the other side of a Goff pass was star offensive tackle Penei Sewell; Sewell caught a pass for a first-down conversion for the Lions.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Lions went off as defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson and Isaiah Buggs combined for two sacks and five quarterback hits in the contest. Team leader Alex Anzalone was Detroit’s leading tackler in the game with nine; the veteran linebacker continues to shine in a Lions uniform.
As for Minnesota, the Lions passing game was too much to handle, and on the flip side, their offense was pretty stagnant in the scoring department due to the inability to run the ball as superstar halfback Dalvin Cook was held to just 23 yards on fifteen carries; a standout to talk about for the Vikings was Justin Jefferson who had eleven catches for 223 yards but was unable to get into the endzone which of course worked out well for the Lions.
The Lions currently sit two spots out of the NFC playoff picture, while the Vikings still have control of first place in the NFC North.
The Lions will look to keep their good play alive in a week fifteen showdown against the Jets.
The Vikings will look to bounce back in week fifteen at home against the Colts.
