Tumblr’s “Year in Review” Revealed – See the Most Reblogged Posts of 2015! (@Tumblr #Tumblr2015)

We can’t believe the year is almost over… where has the time gone?

2015 was known for some big trends on social media, including plenty of #squadgoals and memeworthy posts. If you haven’t been scrolling through Tumblr for hours on end this year, you may have missed out on a few things. But don’t worry because Tumblr has just released their Year in Review!

The popular blogging site unveiled this year’s top blogs, posts, and topics featured on the site in 2015, including the most reblogged events, viral trends, and personalities, as well as categories that Tumblr does best like memes, fandoms, GIF art and “ships.” The collection of content comes as a result of analyzing millions of blogs, billions of posts, and zillions of notes according to a number of factors — total volume of posts and tags (original and reblogged), notes (likes and reblogs), web traffic, follower growth over time, press recognition, and more.

2015 proved to be a big year for memes on Tumblr with “The Dress” that took the world by storm. Despite the insanity around the meme, however, “The Dress” ranks only at No. 5 on the Most Reblogged Memes list with Pepe the Frog coming in at No. 1.

For the past two years, Jennifer Lawrence and Benedict Cumberbatch seemed to be the Homecoming Queen and King of Tumblr. Yet, the pair barely made the top ten this year — ranking No. 8 and 9 respectively — with newcomer Zendaya and Chris Evans (No. 7 in 2014) coming on top.

Kylie Jenner has been one of the most talked about celebs of 2015 and has taken the number one spot for Most Reblogged Reality TV Stars while her sister and model Kendall Jenner has taken the top position for Most Reblogged Model.

Fifteen additional lists can be found today on Tumblr’s official 2015 “Year in Review” blog (yearinreview.tumblr.com) covering such topics as the most reblogged politicians, news events, fashion trends, athletes, musicians, albums and songs. The remaining 80 categories will be rolled out everyday through December 31.
