Fresh off the release of her debut single as W!G, the multi-talented pop recording artist is back with another single titled “Escape Room.”
Featuring a stripped back and dark production, “Escape Room” will invite listeners into W!G’s world as she discusses attending a party where she does not fit in.
‘Escape Room’ is about difficult times I have been through in my life ranging from false friendships to times where I felt like I didn’t belong,” the singer tells Celeb Secrets. “I hope listeners will relate to the message of the song and realize they’re not the only ones who have been through these obstacles. I hope it empowers listeners to feel confident and realize that eventually, whatever they are going through will also pass.”
W!G’s signature tone can be heard atop the production as she sings about wanting to escape the party she is attending and fighting through feelings of loneliness; all things that many people can relate to.
The song is the official follow up to her debut track “Candy Land,” which is upbeat and vibrant pop record that combines modern pop influences with a hard beat and a sing-song style rap cadence.
“‘Candy Land’ is about being in a utopia,” W!G shared with Celeb Secrets upon its release. “It’s a place where everything seems wonderful and playful, but beneath the colorful silhouette lies the real world filled with facing responsibilities, growing up too fast, and witnessing unwanted communication or contact either verbally, written, or on social media.”

Celeb Secrets: Welcome back W!G, thanks for chatting with us! Escape Room just came out. How are your fans liking the song and what does Escape Room mean to you?
W!G: “I am so thrilled and pleased to say that my fans have shown so much love and support since my new single, ‘Escape Room,’ dropped. ‘Escape Room’ is about difficult times I have been through in my life ranging from false friendships to times where I felt like I didn’t belong. I hope listeners will relate to the message of the song and realize they’re not the only ones who have been through these obstacles. I hope it empowers listeners to feel confident and realize that eventually, whatever they are going through will also pass.”
CS: You set the scene of being at a part and feeling alone and wanting to escape. Has this happened to you in real life? What advice can you give to listeners who may be in similar situations?
W!G: “Yes, the feeling of loneliness and wanting to escape has happened to me in real life many times. The advice I can give to listeners who may be in similar situations is to keep your head strong, don’t take these times too personally, and just keep on walking.”
CS: We love the sound of this song! It is so different from Candy Land but still feels so authentic to you. We also love how with each release you are changing your image. Do you have a personal favorite out of the two songs? How about out of the two looks?
W!G: “It is difficult to choose a personal favorite look out of the two songs! They are all so different. I absolutely love both looks because they imitate some parts of my personality and it is so fun to share the different sides of my artistry. I can’t wait for you to see what’s next!”
CS: We have to know… what are your thoughts on actual escape rooms? Have you ever been to one before and do you like them?
W!G: “I haven’t but I absolutely would love to go to an actual escape room one day! They seem so much fun and I absolutely love doing activities that exercise the mind.”
CS: What else can we expect from you this year? Are you working on other projects outside of music?
W!G: “I hope to release more music this year. Outside of music, I am in the editing process of my new Young Adult Fiction Novel, The Strange Stillness of Time.”
