The country’s opioid epidemic isn’t given the awareness it truly needs, but leave it to Better Noise Films’ latest release Sno Babies to do just that.
A gripping and emotive tale, Sno Babies depicts the grim realities of addiction and its effects on a middle-class suburban town. Kristen (played by Katie Kelly) and Hannah (played by Paola Andino) are best friends – smart, likable and college-bound – and also addicted to heroin. The pair of seemingly unlikely addicts spiral down a path of destruction, hiding their secret from well-meaning but busy parents behind pink bedrooms and school uniforms.

Showing how easy it can be to both miss and hide the signs of addiction behind the façade of “good” neighborhoods and pleasantly busy communities, Katie and Paola sit down with Celeb Secrets to talk about what drew them to their roles, the importance of raising awareness to addiction, and the overall takeaway viewers will leave with after watching Sno Babies.
“I think at the end of the day — there are so many important messages that we hope people take away from this film — but I feel like the number one message is that recovery is possible,” Katie tells Celeb Secrets. “You can get through it and make it. The goal [of this film] is to just save one person’s life from having an addiction, and I do feel like if people watch [this film], it might open their eyes to see that recovery is an option for them.”
With drug addiction spiking from COVID factors, Sno Babies is the perfect film to watch to understand the consequences people of all ages — especially teens and young adults — can face due to drugs as well as how to get help if you or someone you know is personally struggling with using.
