Young Hollywood Comes Out to Celebrate the 15th Annual Mattel Party on the Pier

Sabrina Carpenter, Rowan BlanchardMattel Children’s Hospital UCLA hosted their 15th annual ‘Party on the Pier’ event at the world-famous Santa Monica Pier on Sunday, October 5th. Over 2,500 guests and 40 of television and film’s biggest celebrities came to show their support and celebrate the event hosted by Sarah Michelle Gellar. 

Guests at the event enjoyed unlimited games, rides and complimentary sunscreen from Supergoop! on the beautiful, sunny Sunday.  Parents, kids and V.I.P’s took home reusable Mattel Party on the Pier gift bags filled with fun items including a Zack Greinke bobblehead, authentic film memorabilia from Twilight and The Hunger Games, sweet treats from Otter Pops, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 DVD, shoe accessories from Shwings, gifts from BarbieTM, Yodel-ay-he Lotion and more.

Celebrity attendees included Mark-Paul Gosselaar (“Franklin & Bash”), who posed for pictures and played mini-hoops basketball with fans; the cast of the hit Disney series, “Girl Meets World,” including Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Corey Fogelmanis, Peyton Meyer, and August Maturo, who signed autographs and posed for photos; and Nolan Gould and Rico Rodriguez (“Modern Family”) were also on hand to show their support for the charity event by playing games like Ring Toss and Basketball, with fans of their ABC hit-series.  In addition, former Dodgers players Al Downing, Ken Landreaux, Mickey Hatcher and Shawn Green also signed autographs and played games while accepting well-wishes for the team’s success in the NLDS.

Other celebrity attendees included stars from the upcoming film Max Steel, Ben Winchell and Ana Villafañe, Nathan Kress (“iCarly”);  Augie Isaac (“Mighty Med”); Austin North (“I Didn’t Do It”); Cade Sutton (“Kirby Buckets”); Chrissie Fit (Teen Beach Movie); Dylan R. Snyder (“Kickin’ It”); Devan Leos (“Mighty Med”); Francesca Capaldi (“Dog with a Blog”); Jacob Betrand (“Kirby Buckets”); Tiffany Espensen (“Kirby Buckets”);  Karan Brar (“Jessie”); Jordan Fisher (Teen Beach Movie); Landry Bender (“Crash and Bernstein”); McKenna Grace (“Crash and Bernstein”); Mekai Curtis (“Kirby Buckets”); Olivia Stuck (“Kirby Buckets”); Paris Berelc (“Mighty Med”); Piper Curda (“I Didn’t Do It”); Rey Cey (Dodgers); Raini Rodriguez (“Austin & Ally”); Sarah Gilman (“I Didn’t Do It”); Skai Jackson (“Jessie”); and Temara Melek (singer).

Net proceeds from ticket sales and monies raised from the silent auction benefit Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA. For the past 15 years, Mattel Party on the Pier has provided unrestricted funding to launch high-priority programs and support innovative research discoveries that benefit children being treated at UCLA and around the world. Recent support has been directed to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and gene-therapy programs, research on autism-related epilepsy and treatments to improve immune function for children who have undergone chemotherapy and bone-marrow transplants.
