It was a big night in Hollywood last night as The 89th Annual Academy Awards aired live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
The Oscars are one of the biggest nights in Hollywood for film and it brings together some of the biggest actors and actresses to accept their awards and support each other.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the show and did absolutely amazing! He brought his wittiness and comedic skills to the stage, he made it look so effortless.
The night was filled with so many best moments and unforgettable memories that will be one for the books, from Lin-Manuel Miranda and Auli’i Cravalho’s performance of How Far I’ll Go from Moana to the surprise that Jimmy Kimmel had in store for some very lucky Hollywood tourists.
Check down below to see some of the best moments.

An unforgettable performance from Moana
Lin-Manuel Miranda and Auli’l Cravalho from Disney’s hit animated film, Moana, joined together for a very heartfelt performance of the Oscar-nominated song How Far I’ll Go. The performance was presented by Dwayne the Rock Johnson, who played her father in the movie. At just 16 years old, this girl killed it! Although she did get hit in the head with a flag, she kept it cool just like a professional would and put on a stunning performance. The Disney Princess shared her excitement on Twitter

Gary from Chicago
It was a memorable night for some very lucky Hollywood tourists. A group of tourist were on a Hollywood Starline’s tour and little did they know that they were going to be in the Dolby Theatre in front of many movie stars. This was one of the best Oscar stunts ever. Ryan Gosling gave one of them his candy that he had gotten from the show, while another person got a pair of sunglasses worn by Jennifer Aniston herself. A lucky soon to be husband and wife (pictured above), Gary from Chicago and his fiancé were pronounced husband and wife in front of everyone by Denzel Washington. How cool! “He’s Denzel, so it’s legal.” Also is anyone else obsessed with Gary from Chicago? Lol. Check out the video down below to see their hilarious reactions when they got the surprise of a lifetime captured by Keith Urban.

It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane — Â No, It’s Candy!Â
The host of the night, Jimmy Kimmel made candy fall from the ceiling. Throughout the night he dropped treats in mini parachutes including cookies, donuts, and candy. What a dream come true! It looks like he was trying to out win Ellen Degeneres when she hosted The Oscars in 2014 and had pizza delivered for everybody to eat. Since the Oscars are all about movies, you can’t really have movies without candy, right?

The Oscar Envelope Mishap
One of the most shocking moments of the night was when La La Land were announced the winner of Best Picture, but there was a mixup and it was Moonlight who ended up taking home the award. It all went down when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway had announced La La Land was the winner, but apparently, they had the wrong envelope in hand. The entire cast got up and gave their thank yous and acceptance speeches, but then out we see one of the show’s producers run on stage and explain that it was a mix-up and Moonlight was the actual winner. Such a crazy moment that has never happened at the Oscars, we were all so shocked! Both Moonlight and La La Land were such incredible films and the entire La La Land cast, including the producer, Jordon Horowitz handeled it very well. We will never forget that moment.
