A “Wicked” Movie MAY Be Happening And Here’s Who Would Be in Our Dream Cast

Boq – Originated by Christopher Fitzgerald

Best known for his stage appearances, Christopher Fitzgerald originated the role of classmate Boq who falls Glinda and has issues with Elphaba’s ways. Since Wicked, Fitzgerald has continued on Broadway and earned three Tony nominations for Outstanding Featured in a Musical for Young Frankenstein (2008), Finian’s Rainbow (2010) and Waitress (2016).

Going for a bigger name, Tom Holland has the perfect personality for Boq. His theatre background in the West End production of Billy Elliot has trained him for the dancing parts and though he seems nervous to sing now, luckily Boq has few parts that require more than speaking.

Everyone loves Ben Platt – the man already has an Emmy, Grammy and Tony to his name – and Boq gives us Benji vibes from Pitch Perfect. We also know his sass is on point from The Politician, which would suit Boq later in the film.

Or for a basically unknown actor to take Boq on, one needs to look no further than Broadway star Ben Cook. He has set to make his film debut in 2021’s West Side Story and was set to star in the Broadway revival of the same show before sustaining an injury. With additional appearances in Mean Girls and Newsies, Cook has that younger personality, charm and confusion that would be perfect for the role.
