A$AP Rocky was arrested this morning (April 20) after arriving at Los Angeles International Airport.
According to TMZ, who exclusively broke the news, the 33-year-old arrived back in LA this morning after a trip from Barbados with pregnant girlfriend, Rihanna. TMZ reports that the rapper flew in on a private jet and upon arrival was immediately arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department. The outlet reports that RiRi was with A$AP when he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
NBC News later reported that A$AP, whose formal name is Rakim Mayers, was arrested due to a shooting that occurred in November 2021. The victim of the shooting claims Mayers shot him 3-4 times and “believed one of the bullets grazed his left hand.”
The shooting was not announced publicly prior to the rapper’s arrest.
According to TMZ, after issuing a search warrant, the cops searched A$AP’s home. The outlet also reports the rapper has almost been processed and his bond is set at $550,000.
This comes as unfortunate timing as Rihanna and A$AP are expecting their first child together any day now. This past Friday (April 15), the couple faced horrific rumors after a writer on Twitter claimed that Rihanna and A$AP split after he allegedly cheated on her with her shoe designer Amina Muaddi.
Muaddi took to her Instagram Stories on Friday (April 15) to clear up the rumors by stating, “I’ve always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media doesn’t deserve any response or clarification. I initially assumed the fake gossip – fabricated with such malicious intent – would not be taken seriously.
