All Eyes On Kevin Durant Amidst Kyrie Irving Trade Request

Hours after Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, as we reported here on Celeb Secrets, it turns out that most of the attention is on Irving’s teammate Kevin Durant’s reaction to the news rather that on Irving himself.

It does make sense that most teams are monitoring Durant’s feelings, as he is arguably the best player in the game today and one of the best of all-time. Durant is in the elite of the elite, along with LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic. What Durant brings to the table is invaluable as he can elevate a whole team to another level and makes his teammates elevate their games while he is on the court.

Durant can be considered the first of his kind as he is a seven-footer who can handle the ball like a point guard, shoot like a shooting guard, and guard every position on the court. The versatility on both sides of the ball is just nasty, to put it simply.

KD was just named an NBA All-Star starter for the eleventh time and is an All-Star for the thirteenth time in his legendary career. The two-time NBA Finals MVP is currently on the mend but is set to suit up again soon; Durant is averaging 30 points per game, seven rebounds per game, five assists per game, one steal per game, and almost two blocks per game.

This Durant and Irving situation in Brooklyn seems like a replica of what happened this past summer, as both stars requested to be traded and thus put the league on hold. With that said, it seemed as if the two were able to resolve their issues with the team but are now back to square one with Irving’s trade request.

Something of note, when Durant was looking to be traded in the offseason, the top two contenders were reportedly the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns, so that is something to monitor going forward.

For some time, it seemed as if the February 9 NBA Trade Deadline Day would be filled with trades containing role players, but now, we are set to have one of the most, if not the most exciting, trade deadline in NBA history.
