It’s been awhile since Asher Monroe has been on the music scene, so when we heard he was dropping a two-part EP late last year and early this year, we could NOT contain our excitement!
Asher Monroe is a singer, songwriter and actor that got his start in the entertainment industry by playing roles in Broadway touring productions for “Beauty and the Best,” “Oliver,” and “The Sound of Music.” In the mid 2000s, Asher was a member of Johnny Wright’s V Factory and had a single, “Love Struck,” on Top 40 radio. After V Factory disbanded, Asher took on a lead acting role in the remake of Fame in 2009.
After V Factory and Fame, Asher took on a project that is still working on to this day — a solo career in music. The triple threat headed back into the recording studio with music phenomenons such as Ryan Tedder (One Republic), Chris Brown, and Sean Kingston to help shape his sound and create a record. The record resulted in a two-part EP titled On My Way. On My Way: Part 1 EP was released right before the holidays in 2014 and On My Way: Part 2 was released in late January 2015.
CS4U caught up with Asher in Los Angeles recently to get the scoop on his latest musical project. In our interview, the singer/songwriter talks about working with Chris Brown and his team for the On My Way EP collection, the reason why he split the record into two different EPs, how he’s grown since his V Factory days, and his love for animals. Check out the video below!
On My Way: Part 1 & Part 2 are now available and can be purchased on iTunes.
