Britney Spears Reveals She ‘Cried for Two Weeks’ After Watching “Framing Britney”

We’ve all heard about the #FreeBritney movement, but do we really know how drastic the toll all this exposure has taken on Britney Spears mental health?

Last night, the pop star finally went public about her personal feelings when she told her 29-million followers on Instagram that she “cried for two weeks” after watching a documentary that captures her ongoing conservatorship battle.

The documentary titled Framing Britney came out back in February, but Britney is just opening about her reaction now. She explained she’s been “embarrassed” by how the film conveys her persona.

In an attempt to show fans all the calculated moves behind the conservatorship that began in 2008, the documentary highlights exactly when and how her father Jamie Spears was able to gain control of Britney’s personal and financial affairs.

During the 13-year-long conservatorship, Jaime has excluded Britney from taking agency in her own life by seizing control over many of her personal choices as well as her fortune that amounts to $59-million USD.

Spears says that much of her silence on the issue is motivated by her lack of trust towards the media. “I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people,” she reveals in a caption on her latest Instagram video clip.

In the clip that’s garnered nearly 3-million views and counting, Spears dances happily while Aerosmith plays in the background to show her followers one of her favorite coping mechanisms when life gets tough.

“It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I’ve always been so judged… insulted… and embarrassed by the media… and I still am till this day,” she writes.
