Carlos Correa Agrees To His Third Deal of the Offseason, But This One is Finalized as He Stays with the Twins on a Six-Year $200 Million Contract

The never-ending saga of the Major League Baseball offseason has finally come to a close as multi-time All-Star Carlos Correa has officially remained with the Minnesota Twins after reportedly agreeing to deals with the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets.

Correa’s deal to return to Minneapolis is for a length of six seasons and is worth $200 million.

Correa’s offseason has had some speedbumps along the way as things detected in physical tests on his body had both the Giants and Mets pull out from previously agreed to deals with the 2017 World Series champion. Although a tough stretch for Correa and his family, Correa took to social media and said he knew God would put him in the right place.

Another significant player on the Twins, 2022 All-Star outfielder Byron Buxton took to social media to express his excitement about the Twins being able to retain Correa.

The Twins offseason has been pretty silent and low-key since the news of Correa’s previous engagements with the teams mentioned above; however, their offseason has now taken a very positive turn because they were able to keep arguably the best shortstop in all of baseball in Minnesota after many speculated Correa would be a one and done with the Twins.

Aside from the renewal of Correa, the Twins recently agreed to a deal with Two-Time World Series champion catcher Christian Vasquez; with the leadership of Vasquez and Correa, perhaps Minnesota’s younger players will be able to up their play and speed up the process of helping the Twins become a playoff-caliber franchise for the upcoming 2023 season.
