A stunning event took place in the MLB world on Tuesday night as superstar shortstop Carlos Correa signed a 12-year $315 million contract to become the newest member of the New York Mets.
What makes this move stunning is that Correa had reportedly agreed to an agreement with the San Francisco Giants.
It turns out that something in Correa’s physical scared off the front office of the Giants and thus led them to decommit from Correa. So with that said, the Mets took advantage of the situation at hand and have now added arguably the best shortstop in the game while already having arguably the best in the same position in Francisco Lindor.

The Mets have had a record-breaking offseason in terms of spending, as the team has currently spent $806.1 million. Their record-breaking payroll has many considering the Mets a title or bust team for the upcoming 2022-23 MLB season, and that is 1000 percent the case as each member of the Mets starting infield group has at least two all-star game appearances; those players are Correa, Lindor, Jeff McNeil, and Pete Alonso.
On the pitching mound, the Mets added future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander to team him up with another future Hall of Famer in Max Scherzer, as we reported here on Celeb Secrets.

This move seems like a match made in heaven for both Correa and the Mets, as both agree on bringing a World Series title to the Mets faithful.
Something of note, Correa may be switching positions upon his agreement to join the Mets as the long-time shortstop is allegedly going to be playing third base as Lindor is already the team’s shortstop.
