Growing up as a teenager in today’s world is no easy task, but it is always inspiring to come across and hear stories of inspirational teenagers, working to make the world a better place. That is exactly the case with Cincinnati Ohio native, Caroline Grace.
At just 14-years-old, the talented singer and songwriter decided she wanted to use her voice for good, and to try and bring people together in such a divisive time.
Caroline Grace just released her debut single “Open Your Mind,” along with the accompanying music video. The empowering and uplifting song was even co-written and produced by recording artist Alex Angelo!
We caught up with Caroline Grace about her debut release, what inspired the song, how young people can make a difference, and even a funny behind-the-scenes moment from filming.

Celeb Secrets: Thanks for chatting with us! Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about yourself?
Caroline Grace: “Sure! My name is Caroline Grace. I’m a 14 year old singer/songwriter from Cincinnati, Ohio. Making music is what I love to do and I’m just getting started!”
CS: What inspired your song “Open Your Mind?” What do you hope listeners take away?
CG: “When the pandemic started, I was at home watching all the news and seeing so many issues that everyone in this country was arguing over. I was thinking why are people not coming together instead of tearing each other apart? I felt like I needed to say something. Because I’m an artist, I turned to music. I hope that listeners take away that if a young girl like me can take a step back and open my mind, anyone can. We all need to be able to put ourselves in others shoes and empathize with their situation.”
CS: It’s amazing that you are so young and sharing such a positive message. What can other young people do to make sure their voices are heard?
CG: “When you are young, everyone thinks you don’t have a say on things. But they are wrong. You can speak up and do what you love. Anyone can put their messages on Instagram. Put your voice out there! Just because you are young doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be heard. Young people are the future of this world and we should be putting our messages out there and listening to each other to learn.”
CS: The song was co-written and produced by Alex Angelo. What was it like working with him? Can we expect more collabs in the future?
CG: “Definitely! Alex is my friend and my mentor. It was so fun producing for the first time with him and I will continue to produce with him for the foreseeable future. We are friends with his family and we live in the same town. He inspires me, being someone who started so young also.”
CS: If you could collab with anyone, who would you pick and why?
CG: “Taylor Swift for sure! She is my idol! She always has been from her young days to her current music. She is the artist I will always stand by and always love. She started young like me and inspires me to follow my dreams and work hard. She works hard and life throws some crazy stuff at her, but if she gets knocked down, she gets up again because that’s just who she is. She is an amazing writer and it would be an honor to learn from her.”
CS: This is Celeb Secrets, so can you share a fun behind-the-scenes secret/moment from recording the song or music video?
CG: “When we were recording the vocals, I couldn’t say this one line and I just kept laughing. I wrote the song but I couldn’t remember the words for the life of me at the time. I freaked out and we kept laughing and laughing and laughing and couldn’t stop.”
